The purpose of the present invention is to cut a glass substrate to a desired shape by preventing full cutting when a scribe groove is formed on a tempered glass of which the surface is reinforced. A scribe method is a method for scribing a tempered glass having a reinforcing layer which is arranged on the surface to have compressive stress, and comprises a first process and a second process. The first process forms an initial crack on the surface of the tempered glass at a position arranged inward from the cross section of the glass substrate in the injection start side of a preset scribe line at a predetermined distance. The second process progresses the crack along the preset scribe line by irradiating laser beams from the initial crack along the preset scribe line except the end section of the injection start and end sides to heat and cooling the heated section. |
