PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the speed of restoring a storage device.SOLUTION: A storage device 100 detects that a control device 101 in the storage device 100 is down. Then, the storage device 100 determines which is effective: data of a volatile memory 102 that is included in the control device 101 being down or backup data of a nonvolatile memory 103 that is a backup destination of the data of the volatile memory 102. If the backup data of the nonvolatile memory 103 is effective, the storage device 100 makes the control device 101 that is down restart software for controlling the operation of the control device 101. In addition, the storage device 100 makes the control device 101, which has restarted the software, restore the data of the volatile memory 102 by using the backup data of the nonvolatile memory 103. |
