PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for suitably viewing and recording digital broadcasting programs.SOLUTION: A program display device includes: a digital broadcasting reception unit for receiving a digital broadcast wave; a program selection unit for selecting a digital broadcasting program from the digital broadcasting wave received; a display unit for displaying the digital broadcasting program selected; a program schedule acquisition unit for acquiring a digital broadcasting program schedule from the digital broadcasting wave received; an alternative program selection unit for selecting a digital broadcasting program scheduled to be broadcasted in the almost same time zone as a regular viewing program as an alternative program if the regular viewing program for which a user of a broadcasting display device regularly views is not scheduled for the next time with reference to the program schedule acquired from the program schedule acquisition unit; an alternative program information acquisition unit for acquiring program information of the digital broadcasting program selected as an alternative program; and a mail transmission unit for transmitting the program information acquired by the alternative program information acquisition unit to a mail address administered by the user of the program display device.
