PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when a density correction pattern or a color misregistration correction pattern formed on an intermediate transfer belt cannot be properly detected, toner used for forming the undetectable pattern is wasted in executing image calibration.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes first detection means for detecting a first detection pattern, second detection means for detecting a second detection pattern, and confirmation means for confirming operations of the first and second detection means. On the basis of the result confirmed by the confirmation means, whether to form the first and second detection patterns is controlled. |
