PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable capable of securing both high flame retardancy and low friction property, and achieving cost reduction.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable 1 includes: an optical fiber core wire 2; a pair of tension wires 3 disposed in parallel at both sides of the optical fiber core wire 2 along the optical fiber core wire 2; an outer coating 4 coating the optical fiber core wire 2 and the pair of tension wires 3; and a pair of notches 5 formed along the optical fiber core wire 2 with the optical fiber core wire 2 interposed on side faces 4a and 4b of the outer coating 4 positioned at both sides of a surface passing through the optical fiber core wire 2 and the pair of tension wires 3. In the cross-sectional view of the outer coating 4, a plurality of grooves 6 are disposed at both sides of the notches 5, and the plurality of grooves 6 are respectively formed so as to be shallower in depth than the notches 5, and long along a cable axial direction, and constant in width in a direction orthogonal to the cable axial direction along the cable axial direction. |
