PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide speech enhancement devices for suppressing noise components without having original signal components excessively suppressed even when the noise components included in the speech signals are relatively great.SOLUTION: Speech enhancement device (5, 51) include: noise estimation units (12) for estimating noise components included in speech signals for each frequency band; Calculation units for signal versus noise ratio (13) for calculating the signal versus noise ratio which is the ratio of signal components and noise components included in the speech signals for each frequency band; gain calculation units (14) for selecting a frequency band in which the signal versus noise ratio expresses that the signal components in the speech signals are capable of being discriminated and determining gain expressing enhancement degree of the speech signals according to the signal versus noise ratio in the selected frequency band; and an enhancement section (15) for amplifying amplification components in frequency signals in respective frequency bands according to the gain as well as compensating the amplification components in the frequency signals by reducing noise components from the amplification components in respective frequency bands. |
