摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration that permits alteration of edge shape data without having to interrupt driving of a belt or to emanate corrective control of the position of an endless belt even in the event of sudden disturbance.SOLUTION: An edge position E (r, n) of an endless belt detected by an edge sensor 38 is stored into a second memory 7. This edge position and edge shape data B (r, n) stored in a first memory 6 are compared, and a positional variation extent W (r, n) of the endless belt in a widthwise direction is calculated. A compensator 2 outputs a modification signal S (r, n) corresponding to this positional variation extent, and this modification signal is stored into a third memory 8. A transmission function P is stored in a fourth memory. An alteration unit 5, using the edge position, the modification signal and the transmission function, alters the edge shape data stored in the first memory 6.</p>
