PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device and a vibration control method for a bottom plate of an oil pan capable of effectively suppressing vibration of the bottom plate of the oil pan provided for an engine, and where it is possible to take a vibration control measure after installing the engine, that is, after the engine has become capable of operating.SOLUTION: A vibration control device for a bottom plate 7 of an oil pan 1 of an engine includes a damper 13 arranged in a space formed between the bottom plate 7 and a base plate 17 on which the engine is installed so as to press the bottom plate 7, damper holding means 25 for switching the damper 13 between an extending operating state and a retracting non-operating state, damper moving means 19, 23 capable of switching the damper 13 to the non-operating state by the damper holding means 25 and moving the damper 13 in the space formed between the bottom plate 7 and the base plate 17 in at least longitudinal direction of the longitudinal and lateral directions of the oil pan 1. The damper 13 is moved to the optimum position for reducing vibration of the oil pan 1 and the damper is caused to be capable of operating. |
