PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can reliably detect a short steel bar.SOLUTION: Multiple long steel bars S are conveyed on a first conveyance line on which a cold shear 4 is disposed at the upstream of the line and a stopper 5 is disposed at the downstream of the line, and a first camera 6 is disposed in the vicinity on the downstream side of the cold shear 4 and a second camera 7 is disposed in the vicinity on the upstream side of the stopper 5. The long steel bar S is cut by the cold shear 4 into a steel bar S1, and data D1 that is a distance between a front end of the steel bar S1 and the stopper image-captured by the second camera 7 and data D2 that is a distance between a rear end of the steel bar S1 and the cold shear 4 image-captured by the first camera 6 are sent to a calculation device. When the sum of the distances obtained by the calculation exceeds a threshold value that is input into the calculation device beforehand, the warning of "short steel bar is present" is output. |
