The method involves apply a set of signals to inputs (41, 42) of a signal acquisition module (40). Transitions on the signals are detected using the signal acquisition module. States corresponding to high states or low states for the signals are associated with the detected transitions using the acquisition module to obtain a sequence of the states for the signals. The states are selected in a predetermined manner to obtain a combined sequence of states using a signal restitution module (50). A combined signal is generated from the combined sequence using the restitution module. An independent claim is also included for a device for combining information contained in a set of signals.
