BACKLIGHT MODULE AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING SAME

A backlight module (300) and a display device (400) using same. The backlight module (300) comprises a light guide board (20), a rubber frame (50), and a plurality of point light sources which are disposed adjacent to a light incident surface of the light guide board (20). The backlight module (300) further comprises a non-light-transmitting layer, a part of the non-light-transmitting layer is attached to the rubber frame (50) and the other part of the non-light-transmitting layer is arranged on a light output surface of the light guide board (20). The non-light-transmitting layer is used for shielding and absorbing a part of light which is directly emitted by the point light sources and light emitted by the light output surface covered by the non-light-transmitting layer. Therefore, an edge frame of the backlight module (300) is narrowed; even if a ratio of the distance from the point light sources to a display area and the distance between two adjacent point light sources is smaller than 0.5, a hotspot phenomenon can be avoided, so that the optical taste of the backlight module (300) and the display effect of the display device (400) are improved, the assembly process is simplified and the assembly cost is reduced.
