The charging cable-stowage unit (1) has a deflection roller (3) in area of an end (17) of the installation space (2), where the deflection roller is rotated about an axis. The charging cable (4) is guided over the deflection roller in a bow or a loop. An end of the charging cable protrudes from the installation space and is connected with a coupling unit (5). The deflection roller is movably mounted within the installation space such that charging cable with a predetermined length leads out outside the charging cable-stowage unit by a tractive force at an end of the charging cable.
