The method involves detecting torque by a sensor of a steering system (16). The steering system has a steering wheel (1), a steering column (8), a steering track rod (18) and a transmitting unit (6) for transmitting a steering movement of the steering column on the steering track rod. A rotation angle of the steering system is detected by the sensors and transmitted to a control unit (12). A detection signal is generated from the control unit. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for operating motor vehicle; and (2) a system for detecting air pressure drop in a tire.
