PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a backfire when a cylinder determination is made by referring only to a cam angle signal.SOLUTION: Each time a cam angle signal is received, injection of fuel by an amount substantially half as large as an amount necessary for combustion and jump-spark ignitions are carried out alternately in a specific cylinder, and then cylinder determination processing for knowing an expansion stroke of the cylinder is performed based upon change in reception interval of the cam angle signal. For the cylinder determination processing at a restart of an internal combustion engine, a ventilation time is set according to the elapsed time from the stop of the internal combustion engine to the restart, and the cylinder determination processing is started after ventilation in a suction port for the ventilation time. |
