摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a maintenance failure resulting from actuation of a cleaning operation for a plurality of recording heads at the same timing during printing.SOLUTION: In an image formation apparatus including: at least two ink droplet discharge heads discharging ink droplets from respective nozzles; a capping member covering a nozzle surface of each of the ink droplet discharge heads; a suction pump provided to be connected to the capping member, and attracting the nozzle surface; a wiping member wiping off the nozzle surface; driving means for moving each of the ink droplet discharge heads and the wiping member relatively to each other in a direction along the nozzle surface; and control means for executing automatic cleaning of attracting the nozzle surface of some of the ink droplet discharge heads for which the ink droplet discharge head reaches a threshold relating to an ink consumption amount during a printing job, and of wiping off the nozzle surface, if the ink droplet discharge heads reach the threshold within predetermined time, respectively, timing of executing the automatic cleaning of each ink droplet discharge head is set separate from each other at a predetermined interval by shifting the timing of executing the automatic cleaning of at least one of the ink droplet discharge heads.
