PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a non-human model animal to which human cancer cells can be transplanted without suppressing the immunity of the model animal.SOLUTION: A method for constructing a model animal to which xenogeneic cells can be transplanted includes a step in which xenogeneic cells are transplanted to a small-sized model fish in a first period when the immune cells of the fish are in an undifferentiated state. The xenogeneic cells are human cancer cells, and are preferably either created by irradiating human cancer cells with γ rays or obtained by differentiating human cancer cells based on their surface antigens into a human cancer cell population in which the proportion of AlDH positive human cancer cells is 50 percent. In addition, the small-sized fish is a zebrafish, and the first period is preferably after a lapse of 30 to 72 hours from fertilization. The method for constructing a model animal to which xenogeneic cells can be transplanted also includes a step in which the xenogeneic cells having proliferative capacity are transplanted to the model animal again in a second period after a lapse of a predetermined period from the first period. The second period is after a lapse of 1 to 6 months from fertilization. |
