A method for composing configuration changes to be applied to a network element (41) in a distributed way. The method comprises the steps of: at a first server (42), generating a configuration file and signaling the content of said configuration file to the network element (41); according to said content of said configuration file, contacting by said network element (41) a plurality of supporting servers (43 44 45) and downloading from each of said supporting servers (43 44 45) partial pieces of the configuration changes to be applied to the network element (41); combining said partial pieces of configuration changes at said network element (41), thus obtaining a set of resulting configuration changes; applying at said network element (41) said set of resulting configuration changes. |
