The rotor has a base element (5) that is provided around a ring comprising particles of a magnetic or magnetizable material. The base element is outwardly projecting teeth (11) and the ring is engaged positively with the teeth provided with cooperating grooves. The mechanical strength of base element in the region of vicinity of the teeth is smaller than the mechanical strength in middle regions formed between adjacent teeth.
