<p>A method for reacting a compound represented by formula (A) and a compound represented by formula (B) in a solvent and producing a halogen compound represented by formula (C). (In formula (A), Y1 represents a sulfur atom or the like, X1 and X2 are the same or different and represent a nitrogen atom or the like, and Z1 and Z2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, monovalent organic radical, halogen atom, cyano radical, or nitro radical; however, at least one of Z1 and Z2 is a radical selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, fluoroalkyl radical, fluoroaryl radical, cyano radical, and nitro radical. In formula (B), W1-W3 represent an oxygen atom or the like, and Q1-Q3 are the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom or halogen atom; however, at least one of Q1-Q3 represents a halogen atom.
