<p>A skill-based training system includes a processing system (10) having a processor (12), memory (14) coupled to the processor with executable instructions (100A), and an input-output controller (16) coupled to the processor and to input and output devices (22, 24, 26). The memory includes lesson plans (83) that outline skill-based tasks and activities, and predetermined performance criteria (84). The processor is configured to present interfaces (30) on the output devices simulating a virtual training environment (100). The processor is configured to receive input signals representative of performing the activities in the virtual environment, and to evaluate the performance by comparing the performed activities to the criteria, to determine a score and to present the score. The system includes work orders categorized by the lesson plans and defining within an increasing progression of a degree of skill, knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving needed to complete the tasks and activities.</p> |
