<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that suppresses the occurrence of wrinkles on recording paper, while ensuring good fixability to a wide variety of paper types, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises: a driving member 42 that has an elastic layer 70 and is driven to be rotated by a driving source; an opposing member 44 that rotates in contact with the elastic layer 70 and has an elastic layer forming a fixing nip part with the elastic layer 70; and heating means 42A. At least any one of the elastic layer 70 of the driving member and the elastic layer of the opposing member has different friction coefficient areas 75 having a coefficient of friction different from that of a recording medium and arranged on the surface along a direction(s) of rotation of the driving member and/or the opposing member.</p> |
