PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light emission failure of an EL element due to film formation failure of organic EL material in an electrode hole 46.SOLUTION: Film formation failure in an electrode hole 46 can be prevented by film-forming organic EL material after embedding an insulator in the electrode hole 46 on a pixel electrode to form a protective portion 41b. Thus occurrence of concentration of electric current due to a short circuit between a cathode and an anode of an EL element can be prevented, and light emission failure of an EL layer can be prevented.
