A method for controlling a session according to the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) collecting battery information of a wireless terminal which maintains a session with a push server - the battery information is information on a battery consumption share that is a rate at which a specific application maintaining a session with the push server relatively consumes battery, compared with other applications -; (b) determining whether the battery consumption share is greater than or equal to a predetermined reference value; (c) setting a keep alive time of the wireless terminal longer than a current setting value when it is determined that the battery consumption share is greater than or equal to the predetermined reference value; (d) transmitting the keep alive time set in step (c) to the push server; and (e) allowing the push server to set a session with the wireless terminal using the keep alive time set in step (c).
