PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing growth of a microbe in water without causing corrosion of an arrangement in a situation in which treatment water such as process water, rinse water, cooling water in a paper factory, or cooling water of cooling towers that are used in the factory, to provide an antimicrobial agent in which bactericidal activity is high, and the bactericidal activity lasts for long hours, and moreover to provide a production method in which production management is easy, and an antimicrobial agent that shows high bactericidal activity can be produced.SOLUTION: A first medicinal solution 1 that includes a hypohalous acid salt and a second medicinal solution that includes an ammonium phosphate salt are mixed, and then added to treatment water that is represented by process water of a paper factory such as process water, rinse water, and cooling water, and thereby growth of a microbe can be suppressed. |
