<p>SOLIDS SEPARATOR TREATMENT FOR BIOWASTE Abstract The invention relates to a device (1) and a method for the separation of solids from a biowaste slurry before heat treatment, and for heat treatment of the separated solids. The device (1) comprises a chamber (2) with a main inlet port (3) for feeding slurry, and outlet ports (4, 5). A unit (6) for separating solids is adapted to an outlet port (4, 5) so, that liquid leaving the chamber (2) has passed through the separation unit (6). A second outlet port (5) is provided directly from the chamber (2) to allow removal, following sterilization, of solids collected in the chamber (2). The sterilization is secured by temperature monitoring at representative locations.</p> |
