PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side seal for a linear guide device which has a projection corresponding to level difference between a guide rail and a rail cover on a lip portion, improved in sealability by the lip portion even when level difference is steep, and commonly used in both of a case when the rail cover is mounted on the guide rail and a case when the rail cover is not mounted.SOLUTION: A lip portion 11 of a seal member 1 has a projection 11a corresponding to a level difference portion 19 between a guide rail 100 and a rail cover 109. Slits 13 are formed on both sides of the projection 11a of the lip portion 11. As followability of the lip portion 11 can be improved by the existence of the slits 13, even when the level difference portion 19 is steep, sealability can be improved. Further as the projection 11a is pressed by a side face of the guide rail 100, and deformed by the existence of the slits 13 at both sides, when the rail cover 109 is not mounted on the guide rail 100, adhesiveness of the lip portion and the guide rail is not deteriorated even when the projection 11a exists. |
