PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when austenite stainless steel is used in a chain, hardness is poor, and the problem that when precipitation hardening type stainless steel is used in a chain, a heat treatment process is complicated and a material is costly.SOLUTION: In a chain having slide members relatively displacing, at least a part of the slide member includes a base material of martensitic stainless steel, a surface layer of the base material includes pure carbon and nitrogen of 0.17-0.50 [mass%] in total, and a deposition quantity of carbide and nitride is 0.05 [mass%] in total. |
