摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal storage device that determines the state of a thermal storage material which can be overcooled in a short time, and can properly start the nucleus growth of the thermal storage material.SOLUTION: A thermal storage device 1 comprises: an anode electrode 5 and a cathode electrode 6 contacting with the thermal storage material 4 that can be overcooled; a voltage application means 12 for applying a voltage between both the electrodes; a detection means 13 for detecting an electric characteristic between both the electrodes; and a control means 14. The control means 14 has a threshold. The threshold is set to be an intermediate value between a value of the electric characteristic between both the electrodes when the thermal storage material 4 is in a liquid phase state, and a value of the electric characteristic between both the electrodes when the thermal storage material 4 is in a solid phase state. The control means 14 makes the detection means 13 detect the electric characteristic of the thermal storage material 4 on the basis that a first voltage is applied between both the electrodes by the voltage application means 12. When a value of the detected electric characteristic is smaller than the threshold, the control means 14 applies a second voltage which is higher than the first voltage and at which the thermal storage material 4 can grow nuclei therein.
