<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium capable of achieving further higher recording density while maintaining good S/N ratio and thermal stability.SOLUTION: A recording layer 1 of a magnetic recording medium 10 has a multi-layer film structure in which an intermediate magnetic film 12 is sandwiched between two magnetic films 11 and 13 having larger anisotropic magnetic fields than the intermediate magnetic film 12, and they are stacked. In the recording layer 1, thermal stability is maintained by the magnetic films 11 and 13 having larger anisotropic magnetic fields, and when writing (applying a recording magnetic field), an action of the intermediate magnetic film 12 having a weaker anisotropic magnetic field to be magnetized becomes a trigger for causing the total multi-film structure including the magnetic layers 11 and 13 to be magnetized even when the recording magnetic field is weak.</p> |
