An image processing apparatus enlarges the number of pixels of first image data made of a luminance signal and a color-difference signal in a vertical direction and in a horizontal direction, and causes each pixel to have a luminance signal and a color-difference signal to convert the image data made of the luminance signal and the color-difference signal into image data of a Bayer array made of R, G1, G2, and B signals. The image processing apparatus generates a luminance signal using one of the G1 signal and the G2 signal, the R signal, and the B signal in the image data of the Bayer array.

1. An image processing apparatus comprising:
an enlargement circuit configured to increase number of pixels in a vertical direction and in a horizontal direction, and to cause each pixel in the pixels to have a luminance signal and a color-difference signal with respect to first image data made of a luminance signal and a color-difference signal; a conversion circuit connected to the enlargement circuit, and configured to convert the luminance signal and the color-difference signal obtained in the enlargement circuit into image data of a Bayer array made of R, G1, G2, and B signals; and a development circuit configured to generate second image data made of a luminance signal and a color-difference signal from the image data of the Bayer array converted in the conversion circuit, wherein the development circuit generates the luminance signal using one of the G1 signal and the G2 signal, the R signal, and the B signal in the image data of the Bayer array.
