Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and an apparatus for processing residual information. The method comprises: receiving first information of a first label switched path (LSP) sent by a first path computation client (PCC) and determining information of a resource occupied by the first LSP according to the first information; when receiving second information of the first LSP sent by the first PCC, obtaining a resource deletion condition corresponding to the first LSP, wherein the second information is used for indicating that the first LSP needs to be deleted or the first LSP needs to be degraded; and when residual information is determined to exist on the first LSP according to the information of the resource occupied by the first LSP and the resource deletion condition corresponding to the first LSP, sending a notification message to the PCC, on which the residual information exists, of the first LSP, wherein the notification message is used for indicating deletion or degrading of the existing first LSP. In the embodiments of the present invention, the method and the apparatus for processing the residual information can improve correctness and efficiency in detecting the residual information, making residual information detection and clearance on an entire network become very simple. |
