The purpose of the present invention is to provide a crane operation assistance device capable of suppressing a reduction in operation efficiency even when a blind spot occurs in a scanning distance measuring instrument. This crane operation assistance device is provided with: a scanning distance measuring instrument capable of measuring the distances and angles from objects located below the moving range of a mobile unit that is horizontally movable while suspending a container; and an object height distribution data creation means which, on the basis of information measured by the scanning distance measuring instrument, creates object height distribution data that is data indicating the distribution of the heights of the objects located below the moving range of the mobile unit. When a blind spot of the scanning distance measuring instrument is occurring in the created object height distribution data, the object height distribution data creation means corrects object height data in the range of the blind spot on the basis of object height data at a spot farthest from the scanning distance measuring instrument within a virtual container presence range having an overlap with the range of the blind spot.
