URETHANE-TYPE POLYMER AND USE THEREOF

The present invention is a urethane-type polymer produced by reacting a monhydroxy compound (A) represented by general formula (1) (wherein R1 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 24 to 36 carbon atoms; and m represents a numeral number of 0 to 1000), a polyethylene glycol (B) represented by general formula (2) (wherein n represents a numeral number of 2 to 1000), a monoglyceryl ether compound (C) represented by general formula (3) (wherein R2 represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 5 to 12 carbon atoms) and an isocyanate compound (D) represented by general formula (4) (wherein R3 represents a hydrocarbon group having 4 to 13 carbon atoms; and q represents a numeral number of 2 or 3) with one another. The urethane-type polymer can be used as a urethane-type viscosity-controlling agent that has the same properties as those of conventional urethane-type viscosity-controlling agents and also has excellent long-term storage stability just like alkali-thickening-type viscosity-controlling agents.
