The invention relates to a method for supporting a driver when charging a vehicle battery during driving operation of a motor vehicle, according to which method information for optimal adjustment of an accelerator pedal (11) is displayed to the driver during driving operation. In a method according to which the mechanical energy from the vehicle mass arising during a braking process is optimally converted into battery charge, a deceleration of the motor vehicle is evaluated in terms of energy for charging a vehicle battery (5) and, from this evaluation, information is derived for the driver regarding optimal actuation of a brake pedal (11). |
