PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark ignition type internal combustion engine capable of accurately detecting an occurrence of abnormal combustion.SOLUTION: A spark ignition type internal combustion engine comprises: a variable compression ratio mechanism which changes a volume of a combustion chamber; a cylinder inner pressure sensor 61 which acquires pressure oscillation in a cylinder; a filter which allows a pressure signal in a predetermined frequency band among pressure signals to pass therethrough; and abnormal combustion detection means which detects an occurrence of abnormal combustion on the basis of the pressure signal which passes through the filter. The abnormal combustion detection means is configured to set the frequency band of the filter on the basis of a mechanical compression ratio and a crank angle range in which the abnormal combustion occurs. |
