<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate influence of a tire on fuel economy performance of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle workload WF(kJ/L) of a vehicle with a standard tire consuming one litre of fuel and a vehicle workload WD(kJ/km) required for the vehicle to travel 1 km, in a predetermined vehicle speed schedule, are measured by a bench test of a chassis dynamometer. In a tire single body test using a tire testing apparatus, lost workloads Wt are measured for the standard tire and an evaluation object tire to travel 1 km in the predetermined vehicle speed schedule. Fuel economy (km/L) of the vehicle with the evaluation object tire is calculated by WF/[WD+ΔWt],ΔWt being calculated by multiplying a difference between the lost workloads by the number of drive wheels.</p> |
