The paper machine covering comprises a basic structure that is provided with the monofilaments. The monofilaments are aligned in a cross machine direction and are set with anisotropic rigidity. The rigidity of the monofilaments in X-direction is lower than in Z-direction. The basic structure is provided with a reinforcing layer made of chain knitted fabrics.
