The battery (1) has an electrochemical cell (Z) arranged in a housing (2) for storing electrical energy. A contact (A) connects a load and/or a source of electrical energy to the cell. The battery voltage of the cell is provided in an operative switch position of a fuse switch (4). The battery voltage of the cell connects the contact in a backup switching position (S) of the fuse switch. The fuse switch is arranged in the housing. The fuse switch is actuatably tranferred for operating in the backup switching position. An independent claim is also included for an actuator for actuation of a locking switch.
