PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device that can highly accurately detect a shape of a sheet by a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A sheet carrying device includes: first detection means that detects an end in a carrying direction of a sheet; width detection means that is installed on the upstream side in the carrying direction of the sheet of the first detection means and detects positions of both ends in a width direction orthogonal to the carrying direction of the sheet; second detection means that is installed on the upstream side in the carrying direction of the sheet of the width detection means and detects a position of an end in the carrying direction of the sheet; rear end detection means that is installed on the upstream side in the carrying direction of the sheet of the second detection means and detects a position of a rear end in the carrying direction of the sheet in a detection region having width in the carrying direction of the sheet; and sheet shape calculation means for calculating a shape of the sheet on the basis of a detection result obtained by the width detection means when the first detection means detects the tip in the carrying direction of the sheet and when the second detection means detects the rear end in the carrying direction of the sheet and a detection result obtained by the rear end detection means when the first detection means detects the tip in the carrying direction of the sheet.
