This device pertains to an image processing device that achieves a highly accurate position estimation with regards to a tracking subject in real space, even when there is a high level of observation noise, when tracking the position in real space of the subject moving in a time-series image. The image processing device is provided with: an image space subject tracking unit for minimizing the effect of observation noise in a target image region containing the tracking subject and estimating the current position in image space of the tracking subject; and a real space subject tracking unit for converting the current position in the image space of the tracking subject in which the effect of observation noise is minimized, as estimated by the image space subject tracking unit, from image space coordinates to real space coordinates, and estimating the current position of the tracking subject in real space. |
