<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard engine enabled in manual speed change even if there occurs an abnormality in a hydraulic valve that controls a transmission.SOLUTION: The outboard engine comprises: the transmission 24 that includes forward gears 76, 82, a dog clutch C1 for fastening the forward gears to power transmission shafts 60, 68, and a shift actuator 90 for coupling the dog clutch to the forward gears when oil pressure is supplied to one oil chamber 90a, and releasing the coupling of the dog clutch from the forward gears when oil pressure is supplied to the other oil chamber 90b; and a manual valve 70 that is interposed in oil passages 100b, 100q, 100g, 100s that connect a hydraulic pump 86 and the shift actuator, is operable by a ship operator, and can switch a supply destination of the oil pressure supplied from the hydraulic pump to one oil chamber from the other oil chamber when operated.</p> |
