1. A superhydrophobic coating, comprising:
a resin; and a plurality of particles each comprising:
at least one superhydrophobic region, andat least one hydrophilic region, wherein each particle has a three dimensional, nanostructured surface topology, defining a plurality of pores, wherein the particles are covalently bonded to the resin via the at least one hydrophilic region, wherein the resin does not fill the pores of the particles such that the three dimensional surface topology of the particles is preserved, and wherein the plurality of particles render at least one surface of the resin superhydrophobic.
