<p>Disclosed are a remote control device which enables one-handed character input and an input method using same. The remote control device of the present invention, comprises: a main body having an input means for inputting a command, the input means comprising a select key arranged in the center of the input means so as to select a plurality of directions; and key pads arranged outside the select key in a plurality of directions. Using the remote control device, characters can be inputted by repeating the process of operating a multi-direction select keys of the select key, selecting a specific character on the keypad and determining the selected character. According to the present invention, characters can be inputted by one hand so as to enable the remote control device to have a more compact size and improve use convenience. Thus, concentration on the content being worked is improved, and bi-directional communication is enabled without degrading the processing speed.</p> |
