The present invention relates to a graphene oxide that has the effect of hydrolyzing an ester bond of an organic compound or a peptide bond of a protein which are present in nature or are synthesized. Consequently, the graphene oxide of the present invention can be used as a substituent for an enzyme for hydrolysis of an ester bond or a peptide bond in which: reaction conditions must be fastidiously set; and the cost of the reaction is high. Thus, the present invention is extremely useful for the biological materials industry or the detergent industry.
