The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for analyzing partial discharge to check whether a partial discharge detector for detecting a partial discharge signal is normally operated. To achieve the objective of the present invention, the apparatus for analyzing partial discharge comprises: a communication unit which receives the type of an arbitrary partial discharge signal selected from the multiple partial discharge signals for transmission; a digital signal processing unit which sets an attenuation level according to the type of a system AC signal generated from power equipment and the partial discharge signal selected for transmission; a pulse generation unit which generates a partial discharge pulse signal; an attenuation unit which adjusts the strength of the partial discharge pulse signal according to the attenuation level; and a determination unit which transmits the adjusted partial discharge pulse signal to a partial discharge detector through the communication unit and determines whether the partial discharge detector is operated through the signal fed back from the partial discharge detector.
