PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the preservative liquid from being introduced into a damper chamber in introducing a preservative liquid into a liquid discharge apparatus and minimize the amount of a discharge liquid to be discarded as much as possible in replacing the preservative liquid with the discharge liquid.SOLUTION: A printer comprises a whole ink passage including a nozzle of an ink jet head 5 and a damper chamber 70 in a sub-tank 4, an ink introduction part 64 for introducing an ink into the whole ink passage, a preservative liquid passage 63 connected between the nozzle of the whole ink passage and the damper chamber 70 and a preservative liquid introduction part 65 connected to the preservative liquid passage 63. In a downstream side passage part of the whole ink passage positioned on the nozzle side with respect to the connection part to the preservative liquid passage 63, the preservative liquid is introduced from the preservative liquid introduction part 65 through the preservative liquid passage 63. |
