PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a thermosetting resin molded article having a low linear thermal expansion coefficient using a modifier for a thermosetting resin that can give an easily-handled dispersion liquid for forming a semicured material while keeping melt viscosity of the semicured material at a low level, and is suitable for the production step of producing the semicured material of a thermosetting resin.SOLUTION: A modifier for a thermosetting resin is made of modified cellulose fiber having a number average fiber length of 1 μm or less and a number average fiber diameter of 400 nm or less. A dispersion liquid for forming a thermosetting resin that contains a thermosetting resin and/or a thermosetting resin precursor and a dispersion liquid of the modifier for a thermosetting resin is heated to produce a semicured material, and then heated again to produce a thermosetting resin molded article.
