PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of suppressing deterioration of the efficiency of maintenance work in carrying out maintenance of a protective member of a recording head.SOLUTION: A recording apparatus comprises a medium support tray capable supporting a recording medium to be recorded (target recording medium), a transfer mechanism for the medium support tray, a recording head 6 capable of recording the target recording medium carried through transfer of the medium support tray by the transfer mechanism, a protective member for the recording head 6, a maintenance start instruction receiving part receiving an instruction of starting the maintenance of the protective member and a control part 14 controlling the transfer mechanism in such a way as to retreat the medium support tray from a setting position where the target recording medium is set in the medium support tray, in response to reception of the maintenance start instruction by the maintenance start instruction receiving part. |
