<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the imaging of a stereoscopic image of a subject even though a camera of a monocular system is placed in a horizontal or vertical posture.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic imaging apparatus includes a photographic lens 12 of a monocular system, light splitting means 24 placed on an optical path of incident light from the subject made incident through the photographic lens 12 to four-split the incident light by an optional perpendicular line with respect to an optical axis and a perpendicular line of a right angle with respect to the optional perpendicular line, first, second, third, and fourth solid state imaging elements 27a to 27d for respectively receiving respective split incident light of the four-split incident light, and image processing means 42 for performing image processing of output signals of the respective solid state imaging elements 27a to 27d to generate stereoscopic image data of the subject constituting a stereoscopic image.</p> |
