The cooling device has a fan (2) including a fan wheel (4). The fan is attached directly to an end face (6) of a heat sink (1), where a rotation axis (5) of the fan wheel in the direction of the heat sink depicts the rotation axis of the fan wheel parallel to a printed circuit board (10). The fan wheel sweeps a surface area projecting on one side of the end face of a surface of the heat sink. The heat sink includes an integral flange (11) for receiving the fan, where the flange includes an opening for the air flow of the fan.
